Expona Flow PUR in Toasted Oak at JOM’s Dining Sanctuary, Melbourne CBD

September 9th, 2025

Tucked in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, JOM redefines the dining experience by blending Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage with contemporary interior architecture. Designed by Biasol Studio and built by MAC Building Group, this refined space is a tribute to both tradition and modernity, where raw materials meet warm, tropical influences.

At the centre of this transformation is Expona Flow PUR in Toasted Oak, chosen for its natural grain, earthy tones, and durable finish. The flooring brings texture, comfort, and depth to the minimalist setting, anchoring bold design elements such as raw concrete walls, sleek leather seating, and khaki-toned joinery.

Inspired by Malaysia’s lush landscapes and material richness, the design creates a modern sanctuary that’s intimate yet vibrant. Expona Flow’s Toasted Oak vinyl complements this vision, enhancing the sensory atmosphere while delivering commercial-grade performance that’s ideal for hospitality.

As a seamless base to the dining experience, the flooring supports the spatial narrative, providing a calm, grounded contrast to the expressive architecture. It’s a perfect example of how surface materials can shape mood and elevate the user experience, blending design integrity with everyday functionality.
